From the perspective of a conventional APL-based system, these images appear essentially the same. As a result, brightness limiting may be applied even when the content remains well within the panel’s display capability.

The issue is not that ABL activated. The issue is that the monitor may have reduced brightness even though the content placed no unusual demand on the panel. In a professional workflow, that distinction matters.
